The long awaited opportunity to camp overnight at TNI is here. Two options are available for families with children to come learn, explore, and see the preserve trails at night. Registration is $50 per family (at least one parent/guardian and up to three others. Any additional family member is $10 each). Tickets include hot dog and s’mores campfire dinner and donuts for breakfast. Each camp night is limited to only EIGHT FAMILIES. These camp nights are not suitable for any child under 3 years.
Option one:
Firefly Adventure- September 7-8
Open to families with children aged 3-8 years old
6:30 p.m. – Campfire Dinner: Roast hot dogs and s’mores over camp fire. *Parents can bring different items if this is not of interest
7:30 p.m.- Firefly Discussion: The who, what, where, of fireflies
8:30 p.m.- Night Hike: Walk through the prairie for a catch and release hike.
9:30 p.m.- Family Free Time
Morning- Breakfast and Breakdown. Families to be out by 10 a.m.
Option two:
Batty About Bats- September 21-22
Open to families with children aged 8-12 years old
6:30 p.m.- Campfire Dinner: Roast hot dogs and s’mores over camp fire. *Parents can bring different items if this is not of interest
7:30 p.m.- Bats Discussion: The who, what, where, of bats
8:30 p.m.- Night Hike: Search for bats in the wild
10:30 p.m.- Family Free Time
Morning- Breakfast and Breakdown. Families to be out by 10 a.m.
Important info to read before registering below:
- Guests are required to bring their own camping equipment.
- Registration includes hot dogs and s’mores for guests to roast themselves over a campfire for dinner. If your family isn’t interested in that dinner, please feel free to pack your dinner.
- Registration includes donuts for breakfast. If your family isn’t interested in that breakfast, please feel free to pack other items.
- The $50 registration fee includes up to four persons, a minimum of one person must be a parent/guardian over 18 years of age. Any additional guests can be added for $10 each. This can be done on the same form below. Simply click the plus sign to the right of the ticket holder’s name.
- A “Release of Liability” will be required for all participants. This document will be given within your registration confirmation email. This email may take one business day to receive.
- Refund policy: In the event of severe inclement weather, The Nature Institute reserves the right to cancel. This decision will be in a roughly 24 hours notice. If this call is made, then a full refund will be processed. Only an official cancel by the organization will trigger this refund.
